Moving abroad
You are moving abroad or you expect to live abroad for a minimum of 8 months. Report your departure at the earliest 5 days before your date of departure. You can ask for a proof of deregistration.
It depends on your situation whether you can report your departure online or if you need an appointment.
Report your departure online
Do you live alone at your Dutch address? In a group home or student house with people who are not family? Or do you live with family and all residents are leaving? Then you can report your departure to us online.
Book an appointment
You need to book an appointment when you live with your family or partner and not everyone is leaving. You and everyone who is leaving at your address must personally come to the counter. This also applies to minors. Schedule an appointment within 5 working days before your departure.
What you should bring with you
Take these documents with you to your appointment
- Passport or identity card
- New address abroad
If you do not yet have a home address, please report which country you are moving to. And if possible the first address where you can be reached, for example the address of a family member or a hotel.
